Hou Dechang Cultural and Art Park

　　Hou Dechang Cultural and Art Park is named after Mr. Hou Dechang, a renowned calligrapher and painter and a senior researcher at the Central Museum of Culture and History. Located in Fenghuangshan Ecological Park, Changcun Town, Huixian City, Henan Province. Approved by the People's Government of Xinxiang City, the Changcun Town Government is responsible for the preparation work. Construction started in October 2013 and was completed in October 2014, lasting for one year. The total area of the park is over 8000 square meters, including Hou Dechang Art Museum, Calligraphy and Sculpture Square, Stele Gallery Viewing Area, and Cliff Carvings, with a total investment of over 20 million yuan.

　　There are a total of 110 calligraphy and painting works donated by Mr. Hou Dechang, 11 large lacquer inscriptions, 156 folk woodcarving collections, and seal script manuscripts in the museum. Mr. Hou Dechang's calligraphy and painting works are exhibited year-round. The derivatives hall sells books, highly imitated calligraphy and painting, porcelain paintings, rosewood screens, porcelain plates, ornaments, etc. authorized by Mr. Hou Dechang to the outside world.

　　Since its opening in 2014, the Hou Dechang Art Museum has received over 200000 visitors. In October 2015, Mr. Hou Dechang held a symposium on Mr. Hou Dechang's artistic ideas at the Art Academy of Xinxiang University. In 2016, Mr. Hou Dechang held a "Hou Dechang Calligraphy and Painting Art Lecture" in the museum. In 2017, the "Hanmo Yuan - Hou Dechang Calligraphy and Painting Collection Exhibition" was held, showcasing 35 calligraphies and 77 paintings by famous calligraphers and painters such as Liu Haisu, Zhang Ding, Huang Miaozi, Bai Xueshi, Lu Guangzhao, and Qin Lingyun. In December 2017, the "Mr. Wang Shuzhou Photography Exhibition" was held. In 2018, Hou Dechang Art Museum was awarded the "Social Science Popularization Base of Xinxiang City". In September 2018, Hui County calligraphers and painters were invited to the central school of Changcun Town to paint on site and popularize knowledge of calligraphy and painting. And we have also launched activities to promote calligraphy and painting on campus. So far, our library staff have been teaching calligraphy and painting courses at the central school of Changcun Town every Tuesday and Thursday for one consecutive year. In December 2018, Mr. Geng Anhui held a lecture on "Zhengda Meteorology - Hou Dechang's Calligraphy and Painting Appreciation" at Huixian No.2 Middle School. In 2019, Hou Dechang Art Museum began to jointly hold "research and learning activities" with Taoqibao Smart Technology Park, Wulongshan Amusement Park, and Mengdian Ecological Park, receiving more than 8000 primary and secondary school students. In December 2020, Mr. Geng Anhui held a discussion activity on calligraphy and painting of "High Mountain Scenery" at Huixian No.2 Middle School. In January 2021, the "Qingyuan Yazheng" Geng Anhui Chinese Painting Exhibition was held at the Hou Dechang Art Museum.
